Bio:

Dr. Vanessa I. Lopez Kasper has been a research associate at the Chair of Internal Auditing at the Mercator School of Management, University of Duisburg-Essen, since 2020. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics with a specialization in internal auditing and has published both academic and industry-relevant articles in this field. Dr. Lopez Kasper actively supports the internal auditing profession through corporate presentations and speeches at IIA chapters in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria, as well as through her involvement in working groups at the German Institute for Internal Auditing (DIIR).

Together with Prof. Dr. Marc Eulerich, she co-leads the research center as Head of Strategic Partnerships and Operations. In this role, she manages and coordinates corporate relations, administers the research projects, and oversees the annual conference. She is also involved as an co-author in several research projects within the scope of the research center.
